Daou CIO Forum
OVERVIEW
Founded in 1996, Daou Systems was a publicly-traded, leading healthcare information technology company serving the provider, payer, and government sectors (VA and DOD) with infrastructure, call center, staff augmentation, and a deep portfolio of professional services. Daou grew rapidly through several acquisitions. (Acquired by Proxicom in 2005.)
CHALLENGE
Hospital and health system Chief Information Officers were Daou Systems’ buyers; the challenge was to get their attention as most were in the middle of lengthy, expensive EMR implementations.
SOLUTION
We launched a quarterly CIO Forum program in multiple cities that brought together CIOs from regional hospitals and health systems for a day-and-half of organizational development, thought leadership, and peer networking.
Partnering with Gartner, the Forums began with a leading HIT analyst delivering the Keynote, followed by a networking lunch with Daou executives facilitating discussions at each table. Afternoon workshops gave attendees the opportunity to learn more about advances in the current Daou services they were using, and introduced them to new services in the portfolio. Workshops also provided opportunities for clients to share their best practices in HIT.
Dinner featured a peer speaker from the region, addressing a Top 5 Pain Point and how he/she was addressing it. The Forum concluded with peer speakers, interactive discussions and lunch on the second day.
In its first two years, the Forum generated over $2.5M in incremental revenue and $5M in pipeline opportunities.
